One Key to Prevent Sebaceous Hyperplasia From Coming Back
“If you only remove the surface, what’s inside remains.”
Sebaceous hyperplasia forms when oil glands in the dermis enlarge and proliferate.
Many treatments simply shave off what’s visible with a laser. It may look better at first—but the gland underneath is still there, so the bump often returns.
At KKEUT Clinic, we do it differently:
Surface removal + root-cause destruction = lower chance of recurrence.
We aim to treat both the symptom and the source in one plan.
To do this, we combine two devices:
1) Secret/Agnes RF (Insulated, single-pin RF needle)
-
Delivers focused radiofrequency heat directly into the oil gland to selectively destroy it.
-
The insulated needle protects the epidermis and surrounding skin while targeting only the gland.
-
This is the core step for root-cause control.
2) Erbium:YAG laser (Er:YAG)
-
Enables very precise, shallow resurfacing to remove the raised surface lesion.
-
Less thermal damage than CO₂, so faster healing with a lower scar risk.
-
When needed, CO₂ may be added to address deeper components.
Why this isn’t the same as “simple removal”
-
CO₂ alone (shave only): removes the surface → gland remains → likely to recur
-
KKEUT combination: gland destruction plus surface refining → recurrence suppressed
What Sebaceous Hyperplasia Looks Like
-
Small, round, dome-shaped bumps on the forehead, cheeks, or around the nose
-
A tiny central dip (navel-like) on the bump
-
Not extractable like a whitehead
-
Stays for a long time or slowly increases in number
These are not ordinary “spots.” They’re often sebaceous hyperplasia—overgrown oil glands that need both surface and internal treatment to reduce the chance of coming back.
Q&A
고객님들이 가장 많이 물어보시는 내용을 모았습니다.
Is it essential to combine with Agnes?
For syringoma and sebaceous hyperplasia, combining with Agnes, which targets the sebaceous glands, will lower the recurrence rate.
Is there a downtime?
You will need to apply a regenerating tape (such as DuoDERM, DuoDERM Gel, etc.) for at least 2 weeks.
Will it be very painful?
Pain tolerance varies for each patient, but we apply anesthetic cream to help with the procedure.
